The concerts in the ‘Audio Spa’ series are, on the one hand, meditative and atmospheric and, on the other hand, music born of urban energy and bordering on alternative currents. This season, all four concerts in the series will take place at venues outside the Estonia Concert Hall.

In August, ERSO will visit the HALL club for the third time. This time, it is a joint event organised by ERSO, HALL, and the unda festival. The concert programme is created in close cooperation with the resident artists of the club.

The programme for the November concert at Fotografiska was put together by ERSO clarinetist Taavi Orro. The concert is inspired by American minimalism and club music. In addition to classic minimalists such as Steve Reich, the programme includes works where acoustic instruments meet pre-recorded electronic sounds. Some of these pieces are heavily influenced by club music, pushing classical musicians out of their comfort zones and into new territories.

In February, the orchestra will join the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir for a performance at Teras Beach, a beach sports and leisure centre in Tallinn. In deep winter, audiences can step onto white sands in 26-degree heat and enjoy minimalist atmospheric desert music composed by Reich and John Luther Adams.

The series will end with a concert at Paavli Culture Factory, with a programme by ERSO percussionist Vambola Krigul. The evening will explore the ambient and Aphex Twin.
