Richard Strauss
Burleske in D minor
Pyotr Tchaikovsky
Suite No. 4 Mozartiana, Op. 61
The final chords of the “Romance” series season traditionally belong to ERSO’s Honorary Grand Conductor Neeme Järvi, who offers the audience a bright selection of spring classics. Joining the maestro is the charming pianist Anna Shelest, performing as a soloist in three distinct works: Rudolf Tobias’ Piano Concerto and Eduard Tubin’s Concertino from the treasury of Estonian classics, and Richard Strauss’ youthfully bravura Burleske. As a tribute to his idol Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Tchaikovsky arranged four of Mozart’s then-lesser-known pieces for orchestra in 1887. Maestro Järvi concludes the concert beautifully with this suite, Mozartiana.
