Toomas Hendrik Ellervee

Toomas Hendrik Ellervee is an Estonian violinist active as both an orchestral and chamber musician. His first violin teachers in Estonia were Urmas Karu, Eveli Roosaar and Kristel Eeroja-Põldoja. In 2025, he completed his master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the guidance of Triin Ruubel-Lilleberg. In 2022, Ellervee took part in “Baltic Roots”, a joint project of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and the music academies of the Baltic States. He has also furthered his studies in Germany at the University of the Arts Bremen in Thomas Klug’s violin class.

Ellervee’s artistic profile is characterised by an interest in expanding the role of the musician and a willingness to work beyond the traditional concert format. His activities explore the intersections of different musical styles, performing and visual arts, improvisation and experimental performance practices. He is a core member of the Tallinn New Music Ensemble and performs regularly in Estonia and at international contemporary music festivals, including Sound Plasma, Tallinn Music Week, Warsaw Autumn and the Baltic Music Days.

Ellervee is also a member of the Nordic Pulse Ensemble, led by Kristjan Järvi, and plays in the second violin section of the Pärnu City Orchestra.
