Kirti-Kai Loorand graduated from Tallinn Music High School in 1989, where she studied with Niina Murdvee, and from the Estonian Academy of Music in 1994 under Mari Tampere. She continued her studies at the same institution, completing her master’s degree in 1997 under Mari Tampere and Igor Bezrodny. She has furthered her studies at the Amadeus Quartet Summer Course in London and at the international Deutsch-Skandinavische Orchesterwoche in Berlin in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2004.

Kirti-Kai Loorand has been a member of ERSO since 1994. She has also performed with the Narva City Orchestra, the 21st Century Orchestra and the Nordic Symphony Orchestra, and has been active in several string quartets and other chamber ensembles.

She has also taught at Tallinn Music High School.
