Musical adventure “Hunt ja Peeter”

In two spring days, we are waiting for students in grades 1–4 to join a musical adventure at the Estonia Concert Hall. The adventure, aimed primarily at children, but why not at adults as well, offers every visitor the opportunity to get to know orchestral instruments very closely and try to pick up sounds from them themselves. First, we will divide into smaller groups, get to know different groups of instruments, and listen and test what kind of sound can be made with stringed instruments, wind instruments, and percussion instruments. After a short introduction to the instruments, both the orchestra and the audience will gather for a concert, where the musical fairy tale “The Wolf and Peter” by Ülo Krigul and Maarja Kangro will be performed.
Peter, known from Sergei Prokofiev’s fairy tale, has grown up and new adventures and troubles await him. On this occasion, children also have a rare opportunity to sit on stage with the orchestra members and observe up close what orchestral work is all about. The orchestra is conducted by Mikk Murdvee, and the fairy tale is narrated by Mart Müürisepp.
