For the third year in a row, ERSO will fill Viimsi Artium with music for an entire day. From midday until the evening, the audience will be able to enjoy various ensembles of ERSO musicians in the several halls of Artium, starting with duets and ending with a symphony concert. This is a special opportunity to hear almost all orchestral soloists and chamber musicians of ERSO. The programme includes both golden classics and rare gems, as well as music for children. Among other pieces, the ensembles will perform Mozart’s Gran Partita, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No 6, and Debussy’s Sonata for flute, viola, and harp. There will be many other surprises.
The symphony concert of the evening will be conducted by Xandi van Dijk, who made his début with ERSO in February 2021. Van Dijk is one of the most versatile violists and leading chamber musicians of his generation. Since 2007, he has been playing in the internationally acclaimed Signum Quartet. In 2017, he became the concertmaster of viola group of the Munich Chamber Orchestra. He is a charismatic and respected conductor with a thriving international career. At Artium, ERSO will perform the 34th Symphony by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Second Symphony by Johannes Brahms.
