From 14 to 16 April, Estonia will host the global conference of classical music artist managers (IAMA). On this occasion, chief conductor Olari Elts has put together a concert programme focused on Estonian music.
Performed by the brilliant violinist Hans Christian Aavik, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Second Violin Concerto, subtitled “Angel’s Share,” will be heard, and the concert will conclude with the Second Symphony by one of Estonia’s most important symphonists, Lepo Sumera.
Special guest maestro Neeme Järvi will open the evening with Heino Eller’s “Homeland Tune,” which has become an anthem of Estonian classical music. Under his baton, Joseph Haydn’s radiant Symphony No. 88 will also be performed.
