Opening the Regional Arts concert series at the Kravis Center in November, this Baltic ensemble proved itself a world-class orchestra, with lustrous strings, tangy woodwinds and mellow brass creating a distinctive, beautifully balanced sound. Russian conductor Nikolai Alexeev led a gleaming reading of Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 and Tchaikovsky Competition winner Narek Hakhnazaryan offered a fleet, electrifying performance of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto.
