Featuring South Korean piano virtuoso <\/span>Yekwon Sunwoo<\/b>, the program includes the first movement of <\/span>Robert Schumann's<\/b> Cello Concerto (arranged for piano) and a favorite among classical music lovers, <\/span>Beethoven's<\/b> Fifth Symphony. <\/span>Olari Elts<\/b> conducts.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>In November, during ERSO\u2019s centennial jubilee week, maestro <\/span>Olari Elts<\/b> has selected <\/span>Richard Strauss'<\/b> philosophical masterpiece, the symphonic poem Also sprach Zarathustra, for the lunch concert audience.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>In December, as ERSO prepares for its Austrian tour, the orchestra introduces its tour repertoire to lunch concert listeners. Hungarian musician <\/span>Istv\u00e1n V\u00e1rdai<\/b> performs as the soloist in <\/span>Edvard Elgar\u2019s<\/b> popular and romantic Cello Concerto. Additionally, <\/span>Jean<\/b> Sibelius'<\/b> majestic Second Symphony will be performed.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>In January, the lunch concert is led by the charming maestro <\/span>Giordano Bellincampi<\/b>, a long-time favorite of Estonian audiences. The program features true delights for classical music enthusiasts: <\/span>Carl Reinecke\u2019s<\/b> Concerto for Harp and Orchestra, featuring ERSO\u2019s own <\/span>Sara D\u2019Amico<\/b>, and <\/span>Felix Mendelssohn\u2019s<\/b> popular Scottish Symphony.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>Popular works also dominate the second lunch concert in January. The program features <\/span>Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s<\/b> most beloved orchestral works\u2014Symphony No. 40 and Sinfonia Concertante\u2014where conductor and violin soloist <\/span>Candida Thompson<\/b> performs alongside the young Estonian violinist <\/span>Triinu Piirsalu<\/b>. The concert opens with the first movement of <\/span>Igor Stravinsky\u2019s<\/b> characterful Concerto in D for String Orchestra.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>In March, audiences can hear <\/span>Antonin Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s<\/b> monumental Cello Concerto performed by ERSO\u2019s principal cellist <\/span>Indrek Leivategija<\/b>, conducted by the Dutch maestro <\/span>Marc Albrecht<\/b>.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>In April, the soloist for <\/span>Fryderyk Chopin\u2019s<\/b> Piano Concerto No. 2 is the young pianist <\/span>Havryil Sydoryk<\/b>, winner of last year\u2019s \"Classical Stars\" (Klassikat\u00e4hed) competition. The program also includes <\/span>Claude Debussy\u2019s<\/b> enchanting symphonic work La mer. <\/span>Bas<\/b> Wiegers<\/b> conducts.<\/span>\r\n<\/span>\r\n<\/span>To conclude the series in May, ERSO and chief conductor <\/span>Olari Elts<\/b> invite listeners to experience the most beautiful excerpts from <\/span>Joseph Haydn\u2019s<\/b> oratorio The Seasons.
