The concert concludes with <\/span>Ludwig van Beethoven\u2019s<\/b> brilliant Fifth Symphony, featuring the iconic \"Fate knocking at the door\" motif known to every music lover.<\/span>\r\n\r\n\"Mozart\u2019s music is the great love of my life,\" says pianist <\/span>Kalle Randalu<\/b>. He celebrates his upcoming 70th birthday with his most significant artistic partners \u2013\u00a0 Maestro <\/span>Neeme J\u00e4rvi<\/b> and <\/span>ERSO<\/b>. The program includes the <\/span>Rondo in D major<\/span><\/i> and the joyful <\/span>Piano Concerto in F major<\/span><\/i>, works that Randalu has also recorded with ERSO and J\u00e4rvi. Additionally, the audience will hear the picturesque symphony <\/span>In Autumn<\/span><\/i> by German composer <\/span>Joachim Raff<\/b>.<\/span>\r\n\r\nIn February, conducted by Chief Conductor <\/span>Olari Elts<\/b>, the orchestra performs <\/span>Gustav Mahler\u2019s<\/b> grandiose and pantheistic Third Symphony, which, according to the author, reflects the harmony of the universe. While influenced by the philosophies of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, the direct impulse for the work was a poetic imagery of creation from the poem <\/span>Genesis<\/span><\/i> by the composer\u2019s friend, Siegfried Lipiner. Mahler employs a massive orchestra, boys' and women's choirs, an alto soloist, and off-stage instruments to achieve a truly spatial sound.<\/span>\r\n\r\nMaestro <\/span>Arvo Volmer<\/b>, ERSO\u2019s Chief Conductor in the 1990s, has programmed a work by his predecessor, another long-time Chief Conductor <\/span>Olav Roots<\/b>: <\/span>Variations and Passacaglia on a Theme by Artur Kapp<\/span><\/i>. Featuring the acclaimed violinist <\/span>Benjamin Schmid<\/b> as soloist, the program includes <\/span>Niccol\u00f2 Paganini\u2019s<\/b> virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 1.
