He later continued his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de M\u00fasica \u201cManuel Castillo\u201d in Seville under the guidance of Camilo Irizo and David Calvo, while also receiving lessons from Antonio Salguero and Javier Trigos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After completing his studies in Spain, Jos\u00e9 moved to Helsinki to attend the Sibelius Academy, where he earned a Master\u2019s degree in clarinet performance. His teachers there included Olli Lepp\u00e4niemi, Harri M\u00e4ki and Asko Heiskanen. Alongside his main studies, he also completed pedagogical studies with Okko Kivikataja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2020, Jos\u00e9 has been a member of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, where he serves as Co-Principal Clarinet and E-flat Clarinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before moving to Estonia, he worked in Finland with the Oulu Symphony Orchestra as Co-Principal Clarinet and E-flat Clarinet, and with the Finnish National Opera as a tutti clarinetist and bass clarinetist. He has also performed with numerous orchestras across the Nordic countries and Europe, including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International competitions have also played an important role in Jos\u00e9\u2019s musical development. He has taken part in the Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition, the Crusell Clarinet Competition, the Carl Nielsen International Competition and the Vienna International Music Competition, and has reached the semi-finals of both the Mercadante and Chieri competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to his principal teachers, Jos\u00e9\u2019s artistic development has been shaped by a number of distinguished clarinetists and mentors, including Jos\u00e9 Luis Estell\u00e9s, Carlos Gil, Bj\u00f6rn Nyman, Yehuda Gilad, Andreas Sund\u00e9n and Christoffer Sundqvist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside his performing career, Jos\u00e9 has in recent years developed a growing interest in woodwind instrument maintenance and repair and is currently pursuing professional training in the field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JOS\u00c9 CARLOS DOM\u00cdNGUEZ ALMELA clarinetERSO member from 2020 Jos\u00e9 Carlos Dom\u00ednguez Almela began his musical studies in C\u00e1diz at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de M\u00fasica \u201cManuel de Falla\u201d, where he studied with Francisco Hern\u00e1ndez and Francisco Jos\u00e9 Cant\u00f3.
